I appreciate the help I got to remove the u-joint from the shaft. However, I could not get the drive shaft out when I removed the 2 u-bolts at the rear of the shaft so I need instruction on how to get the shaft out first. Thanks.

Usually a prybar is needed in this situation. You have to pry the shaft out, being careful not to harm any nearby components or lines. You can also try using a rubber mallet to tap the shaft out. Whichever is easier and more convient for you.
