I have a 2001 chevy tahoe and the A/C cuts out when the vehicle is running at low speeds when its very hot outside. Last time it cut out while driving slowly I stopped the vehicle and with the engine running opened the hood. After a few minutes the A/C clutch started clicking then stayed engaged and the A/C was working again making me believe that the HI PRESSURE SWITCH is probably failing. I ordered a new switch and see that its held in place by a snap ring. After evacuating the system can I remove the snap ring and switch without removing the compressor? Will any oil leak out when its still mounted in the Truck? I have a 2001 chevy tahoe and the A/C cuts out when the vehicle is running at low speeds when its very hot outside. If you can get to snap ring O.K. Leave comp. On engine no oil loss will occure. But most likely problem is faulty fan clutch not pulling cool air through condenser
