The tow haul button stopped working but if I pull the shifter back it will go on. Now when I put it in 4 wheel drive it makes a noise

If the light doesn't come on, chances are there is an electrical problem. Has the check engine light come on?

Also, when you use 4wd, can you describe the noise and are you sure it is the transfercase making the noise?
