I am hearing a noise in my car. It occurs on acceleration only, at almost any speed. It sounds like a maraca is being used and gets worse if I open the window. I am almost sure it is from the tires on the driver side, but I can;t tell if it is the front or rear tire. Could it be ball bearings? If so, how much might that cost, in general? Thanks!

PS-I took it to the repair shop and they claimed they couldn't hear it. I think it's gotten worse since then.

Have the front CV or U joints checked, does it get worse on turns?

I will ask about the front cv or u joints.

The sounds does not get worse when I turn. I only hear it during acceleration on the highway. I usually don't hear it when driving in town, where I can't get to higher speeds.
