1999 Chevy Tahoe wont go out of park occasionally. Sticks I

The gear on the steering column when you go to take out of park will not go into drive or reverse occasionally. It sticks in park. A mechanic said its a part in the steering column. Do you know what kind of part this is and how much it costs.

Double check the brake lights when this happens, if the brake lights dont work when this happens then replace the brake light switch. This is whaqt controls the shift interlock solenoid.
