As a young, aspiring "mechanic", i've removed three transmissions so far. The first two were on older vehicles and had 6 bolts/studs that mounted the trans to the engine. The Chiltons Manual for the 99 tahoe says there are nine nuts/bolts to remove in order to pull the trans. As far as I can see and feel, I can only find 8. Does anyone know if there are only 8 bolts or am I missing the ninth one somewhere?

Louie, I appreciate the response but I see a few differences right away. On the the trans i'm pulling, there's two threaded rods going through the bottom of the bellhousing with nuts holding the trans in place. I didn't remove any bolts at all, only the studs on the sides of the bellhousing. Apparently, there's three more studs on top of the trans, but I can only find two.
