1999 Chevy Tahoe loud grinding noise

1999 Chevy Tahoe Automatic

Last night my while driving my car started making a loud grinding noise. When I hit the gas to go from a stop it grinds til I hit about 35 mph. I can drive through the grind and also if I tap the gas to go slowly the grind is not there. What could it be from?

It is obviously something affected by the inertia of faster take offs. If you could tell me where the grinding sound is coming from (front, back, undercarraige, etc) I may be able to help you find it.
