1996 Chevy Tahoe RPM runs high

My Tahoe's "service engine soon" light just came on and the RPM's run really high even though I am only driving 20-30 MPH. I cannot go over 30 MPH - the RPM's are going real high and then dropping low. The engine seems to not be getting enough of something. It sounds like the engine is running real hard. I didn't even make it home - I left it in a parking lot. What is going on? Thanks for helping.

Your starting point here is get the computer scanned for code/s to find out what's causing it to come On and get back with the code/s

Or you can try cleaning out the IACV and test the TPS/MAP sensor and see what happens-
