At appox 25,000 miles as I was pulling into my parking spot at workm my rear end seem to lock up. I had dual tire marks from my rear tires into my parking spot. I backed out of my spot and drove aroud the parking lot and it released. This only happens as I am turning slowly in to my spot. I took it to my dealer, they told me that the rear end needed servicing, that the additive had broken down and needed to be replaced. They said this happens if you do aliot of towing. I have a maximum of 500, towing miles ont the vehicle. This morning it happened again at appox 27,000 miles. Any thoughts?

I know on the older posi and limited slip rear-ends the owners manual said to service them every 7500 miles. It sounds to me that maybe The clutch plates are deteriorated. When they serviced it did they take the cover off and inspect it or use one of those machines that suck the fluid out and puts fresh fluid in? I would request that the unit be inspected.

Actually, I just received a call from the service advisor. He said that there was rust build up in the parking brake area of the rear rotors. Apparently there is drum on the back side of the rotor for the parking brake. This had gotten rusty from when I put my boat in the water. So when I made my turn into my parking spot the brakes gab once in awhile.
