I have recently noticed that after a long drive that my oil pressure gauge will go to zero at idle. I pulled over immediatley and figured the oil level was low. Nope, it was completely full. I get back in the and start it and the gauge goes back to normal.
I have heard this could possibly be a gauge problem? It doesn't do it driving around town. Only on a trip longer than an hour.
Do you
have the same problem?

Hi tnkrocha
Need to hook up mechanical oil guage to engine and see if there is a pressure problem. If not maybe sender unit on block. Do not wait to do this no oil pressure can take out bearings quickly. I'm betting on guage malfunction but just like your blood pressure nothing to guess about.
Let me know if you have further questions
