2002 Chevy Suburban Service Engine code Catalytic Converter

Service Engine light came on about a week ago - just had code checked - guy said it is the cc - I mentioned that I also noticed (when I start up) the airbag light comes on then goes off. Scared me - was assured that the engine was just running it's own test and that it is only the cc. I am under emissions warranty for cc so I just came back from a Chevy Dealer. He says that the airbag light is a totally separate system and that there must be something wrong with the airbag system.I called the guys that did my code (for free - Chevy dealer wanted 75.00 just to code it) and they told me that it's only the cc - do not do anything else. What do you guys think - I don't want to get ripped off. Thanks for your input.

If your air bag light comes on and then goes off after nine seconds, that tells you there is nothing wrong with the system. End of story. If there is any sort of problem with the air bag system the light will not go off. Hope this helps
