I have been experiencing problems when I tow a trailer. At low acceleration speeds (just below 2K on tack) the BATT light appears in the "message center". When the transmission down shifts and the RPM's increase the light goes out. When I use tow/haul the transmission inconsistently will not down shift to accelerate, or some time will not release the higher gear even after it's no longer needed. I have read this might be a result of a faulty PCM (power control module). The service engine soon light will some time come on, but eventually go out. If you think it is the PCM, approximately how expensive a fix do you think it would be? What are your thoughts? This is my first experience with this site.

Actually, I question that it is the PCM. Have you had the computer scanned to identify trouble codes? Most parts stores will do it for free. Have that done and let me know what you find. If the check engine light has been on, there should be a code stored in the computer.
