1999 Chevy Suburban not having gas pressure

We just rebuild both head change head gaskits new water pump re timed motor start but shuts off in few sacond cheked fuel lines after turning starting switch did not see any fuel coming or going
we have to pore some fuel in the carborator to start motor

There should be a fuel pump prime connector, rear of engine compartment, driver side, red wire with electrical connector, nothing plugged into it. If you use a jumper wire and run voltage to the connector, the pump should run, you don't need to use the key. Use an inline fuse on the jumper, the circuit is for testing the pump.
