my suburban was having issues with the brake lights. well i checked the light then the fuses and came to the conclusion that is was the brake light switch. i replaced the brake light switch and the brake lights still didnt work then when i started it i could not shift out of park. i know the bulbs are good because i have tested them in different sockets. any ideas whats wrong.

check the ground going to the sockets as well as where they connect to the truck. Alot of times that iis what the problem is . IF it doesn't come out of park the avits switch may not be releasing. If you have a console , ther eshould be a silver button to push under it to release it from park....
