1997 Chevy Suburban fuel pump

1997 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 198k miles

over the past 2 months, my car would not start and woud start n hour later, this started happening more often, and finally wont start at all, I tried and cannot hear the fuel pump at all, under vehicle, I have better than 1/2 a tank, being this has been going on for a while this is prob not my relay, ( is there a way to test ) is it save to install pump on underbelly and tap into fuel line

You cant tap into a line and get the fuel pressure and volume this truck needs to run. To test all you have to do is unplug the fuel pump connector on the top of the tank and check for power on the gray wire while cranking. If you have power then replace the pump assembly. Hope this helps

Direct power to the fuel pump's gray wire and black to ground and see what happens -don't come On fuel pump is defective-

If it comes On -troubleshoot the circuit back to the F/P relay and the computer relay contol and also make sure the fuse for the fuel pump is good.

As per your PM-the fuel pump fuse is in the underhood fuse/relay block its a 20amp fuse-unable to determine where-pull all the 20amp and check and test it-

[ yes, and by the relay, there is a slot for 20 amp fuse that says fuel, but there is no metal connectors there and has never been a fuse there
