Was told it was EGR code

Engine light came on - had it checked and was told it was egr code. Owners manual says to check fuel cap for closure and possibly fuel. Had recently filled up, so have not been able to try another fuel yet. Fuel filter has 80% life as per computer reading. What do I need to do to address this code warning?

A loose gas cap is not going to set an EGR code so more than likely you have an issue with the EGR. I would remove it and inspect it and if it were me, I would just replace it.
