Truck started fine this morning. Ran for 5 or 10 min, then started missing real bad. It will restart, but hardly runs. It just kind of spits a little. Low oil light came on with the engine light also. I have oil. I have never seen the oil light come on before. Code reader gave me p1404 p0300. I replaced the egr valve, but it didnt help at all

THE 1404 CODE TELLS US THE EGR IS HANGING OPEN. BUT YOU ALREADY REPLACED IT. DID YOU TRY UNPLUGGING IT TO MAKE SURE SOMETHING ELECTRICALLY IS NOT HOLDING IT OPEN?

P0300 is multiple cylinder missfire if you were wondering, it is probably caused from the EGR problem. Report your problems back to mastertech

First when you installed a new one, did you clean it througly and all the ports on the engine before installing the new one with a NEW GASKET? Make sure it is tightened down properly, voltage should be aproximately 5v at the connector.

Try what I describe below.

Reset the trouble codes with the valve disconnected and immediately turn the key. Then connect the valve and turn the key back on.

I didnt clean the ports on the engine, but I cleaned the surface area for the new valve. I used a new gasket. Why is my message screen saying low oil and the oil gauge looks dead all of a sudden

Your truck is full of oil. You can jump the oil level sensor and see if that does anything but I think the truck will not be affected running wise due to low oil level.
