So here's the issue. The tumblers in the ignition are stuck and the bar inside will not drop to remove the ignition. We have tried drilling out the bar and that doesn't work. The Ignition will not turn. How do we get the old ignition out and get a new one in? If steering wheel removal is required what do we do?

Slide hammer? When all else fails I use a slide hammer and pull it out and hope for the best. If you got most of the pin drilled out then it should come out pretty easy with the slide hammer(dent puller) if you dont haqve one you can buy one for about 20 bucks at the parts store, it uses a screw in the center that you force into the ignition cylinder then use the slide hammer to pull it out

We can't get the pin to push down or the lock bar to drop because the cylinder won't turn at all. The steering wheel is not locked and you can turn the wheel. Will the slide hammer work?
