2005 Chevy Silverado FAN CONTROL

The fan will somethimes cut off with the control and sometimes it still blows on low. What is the problem? And what should it cost to repair?

Sounds like the blower resistor to me. It is locaten in the air chamber next to the blower motor under the right side of the dash. The harness may be damaged too. My truck had that problem.
