I have a c3500 chev trk, long bed, with the larger
ext cab. I have a 8.5 foot cab over camper on the
truck weight approx 1700# I am expericing rear spring slap noise when hitting pavemant cracks.
Is there some sort of spacer or rubber dubber insert?

Hi robert tietz. Welcome to the forum. Look at the front and rear ends of the leaves for two holes, about 3/8" in diameter. If they are there, there was likely a plastic isolator that fell out. They just snap in place and allow the leaves to slide against each other as their lengths change when they flex. If they are missing, you might have to find a suspension and alignment specialty shop for replacements. The salvage yard is a good place to look too. You can try the dealership parts department, but I suspect they will want to sell you the entire spring.

Also look for evidence of missing metal bands near the end of one of the leaves. You are more likely to find them on the rear section behind the axle. Here again, you might have to visit the specialty shop for replacements. They come with rubber spacers to prevent movement from cutting into the straps.
