My 4x4 is making a clicking noise when I back up. Sounds like its coming from around the transfer case area. The U joint is ok. Also found a broke right rear shock. What do you think is the source of the sound and how expensive is a fix? Thank you very much.

With a friend outside the car back up slowely and see if you can hear the clicking sound coming from one of the cv joints. I don't know why but if you hear it coming from the right side check the left. Weird. If you find it is the cv joint you can get a rebuilt one easier than rebuilding one. As for the rear shock that is a easy fix, I suggest that when replacing a shock get a pair one for each side, unless the money situation is tight then just get the broken one.
