Ok I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado and everytime I turn I hear a popping noise and I do not know what it is. It also feels like the tires want to lock up. I replaced the U-Joint just to see if that would do it but it didnt fix it. I got told that it could be the spider gears. But I just want to know what that sound is?
Thanks.

It sounds like you have a limited slip differential and the clutches are chattering. Drain the fluid and replace the fluid along with a bottle of friction modifier. This usually cures the problem. You can get the additive at most any auto parts store.
