Here lately in the cold mornings my truck takes a couple of cranks to get it started. When it does finally start the clock is reset just like the battery went dead. Also here lately it doesn't seem like I have the power that I should be getting out of a 5.7 V8. Anybody have any ideas??

Has the check engine light come on? Also, is this the original engine? If so, the colder it gets, the more the steel contracts in the engine causing less compression. With 204K that could be why it is harder to start and showing less power. Once it warms up, does it run better and start easier? Has the check engine light come on?
