I ran out of gas. After refueling, engine cranks but will not start.

Maybe it was very low but that wasn't why it quit :

I have heard that running low on gas can cause a pump to overheat, because the fuel isn't there to cool it. (I never bought into that myself, because the pump rarely is setting in the fuel 100% of the time anyways).

Pull the air snorkel of the throttle body and spray starting fluid into the opened throttle body, and crank it. Does it start?
