1996 Chevy Silverado Vacuum booster replacement

I'm replacing the vacuum booster on 96 silverado and can't figure out how to get the clip off at the brake pedal. Sorry, I meant the brake light switch. How do you get the switch off to access the clip without breaking it? Any suggestions Thanks, Kevin

Remove negative battery cable, remove the clip by pulling up on the top the sliding it back over the pin, unsnap the switch from the pushrod, then remove the plug.
