Engine Performance problem
1995 Chevy Silverado Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I was told that the reason my truck is not starting correctly is the flexplate. It sounds like it wants to start but it just won't turn over. The truck has a brand new transmission in it and a brand new gas tank. I feel like some things may be worth fixing but I know nothing about cars. How much will it cost to do something like this and do you think it is worth it. The truck does have high mileage and some rust. It doesn't Whine no. It does crank.

Is the engine cranking over with whinning noise? If there's no noise then it has nothing to with the flexplate. Do you mean it cranks over and refuses to start or won't crank at all I need to know this before we can continue.

Hi there,

Further to the last answer, I would remove the starter and check out the teeth on the flex plate first.
