Well I heard a grindin and rattling noise comin from my rear end when I punched it, so I go to a shop, they give me a oil change, and check tranny fluid and say thats where my problem is, so I decide, to take it easy and drive from work and back only, and take it in the school shop on monday. Well I was takin it home from work, after I got it serviced. So I start to break for a stop sign, when I hear a even worse noise so I pull to the side. I get pulled/ pushed home. Now im not a expert but, im not sure wat to do? ONe of the guys that helped said it was my rear gears, or that the rear needed oil.

Forgot to mention but its either the transfer case and/or tranny, said by a backyard mechanic.

This dont look pretty.
Chances are if it will still untrack itself, it aint the rearend. Its in the transfer case.

Strange. About 85% of the posts on here dealing with drivetrain problems are from owners of 4WDs?
My Cousin just paid $1800 to have his transmission re-built.
Guess what he drives?
