I have a chronic problem when operating at very low speed approx 5mph or idling, in that the clutch pedal will go to the floor and will not disengage. I had the local dealer install a ford heat shield on the clutch hydrolic line, this did not resolve the problem. Also the starter will not engage after shutting the engine off, until the truck has set for approx. 20 minutes. This elapsed time also brings the cluth back into plAY. I had a new starter intalled, this did not resolve the problem. Any ideas on how to resolve this. Thanks

WOW. I have a 1992 Chevy 4x4 just like yours. AND I have had the exact same problems as you only mine also lost power steering. If I let it cool off a while, everything started working. Unfortunately, I have only a LITTLE advice for you. I replaced my clutch MASTER cylinder and the SLAVE cylinder at the same time. That problem has NEVER happened again since. Now, a new starter DID correct mine so maybe you should try 1 more new starter. Perhaps the new one was reman. And still has a problem or 2. I also replaced the power steering pump but still have that problem. I'm still trying to figure that out. I think it's maybe the gear box. I'll keep you posted if I figure out.
There's got to be a way to vent more heat from under the hood. I'm certainly open to suggestions myself.
