Transmission problem
1991 Chevy Silverado 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

the transmission in my truck went out and I tried to pull it out to put in a new one but I cant get it out. There were 6 bolts holding it to the motor, 3 on each side I took those out and took out the part that connects to the clutch and took out the started and I still cant get it out. It has a 4.3l v6 and a 5 speed. Im pretty sure its a mg5 but not positive.

It sounds like you have everything loose. Could the dial pins be corroded and holding it?

Im not exactly sure what the dial pins are. I kno sum stuff about cars but im not great with them. Im using a motorcycie jack and have a ratchet strap holding it to the jack and I put a rope on the jack and pulled and it still wouldnt come out

The dial pins are short steel rods (maybe 1/4") that are between the trans and the engine. They are used to align the two during assembly. They can get tight, but it sounds like you are trying hard enough to pop them loose. Are you sure there isn't one more bolt at the top center? Does the trans move at all from the engine?

I just spent 10 minutes trying to find a picture of the bellhousing and can't. There are three different transmissions it could be. None of what you mentioned. Every one says to remove the top two bolts first. Make sure there isn't one hiding under wiring or something.
