I/car427vette forgot to provide further information as to exactly what else I have done since the last/2nd smog check. Two days ago I have replaced the catalytic converter with the correct california legal per the manufacture, magnaflow model specific for an CA smog emmisions for an 1985 c-10 silverado 4x4 p.U. W/350 c.I. And auto trans. When installing this unit it does fit as an OE> component should. I did of course inspect the cat I had removed as it was from an suburbon and only two years old. Viewing through the cat end to end the screen drid did have some carbon sooty material but definatly was neither clogged or appeared that it was not working which I understand the only correct way to validate its functionality is by using an expensive diagnostic device that I had no access nor money to spend for this purpose. I will scrutinize the AIR pump and seemly easy system to check for obvious problems and such and I guess on Monday/tomorrow I will have the truck smog tested and hopfully pass to wait for my next regerstration. Thanks you for your direction to double check before my test tomorrow. Michael
