Ok I have two Chevy S-10 Pickups. Ones and 87 the other is an 88. The computer is bad on one but other wise a really good truck. The other one has a good computer on it but is other wise a complete piece of crud. Basically I need to know where the computer is located so I can switch 'em myself. I got a quote for 54 bucks but i'de rather do it myself if I could. The problem with the good truck is that whenever you stop you have to leave your foot on the gas or it will die. It was taken to a shop by previous owner and mechanic said it was the computer. The whole having to keep your foot on the gas thing wouldn't be too bad except for the fact that its a manual. I really need to get this problem fixed soon but I don't really have the money to get it done with.

The ecm is located on the passenger side under the dash. You will have to remove the trim panel to get to it.

My Chevy S10 LSX small truck won't start and stay running. It stutters.

I get a big odor of fuel when it first starts and then I have to keep my foot on the throttle in order for the engine to stay running. It stutters as I do this, but less.

Someone said I might wack on the computer (ECM) to see if there is something wrong with it.

Where is the computer located?

Last year I had the head gasket replaced after it blew. There was really nothing elese wrong with engine.
