I opened the door panel to replace the driver side power mirror. Before I finished I found that when the door is closed the interior lights stay on. Also, when the key is in ignition the door open chime is continous. The power mirror works. I have checked the other connectors inside the door to verify they are not loose. I have not yet found documentation for the buzzer as of yet. Which connection or relay did I disrupt?

I can not find the typical switch in the door which turns the interior lights etc. On when the door is opened. I have checked the ps door as well. I may be blind but I'm sure the S10 does not have this typical component in plain view. I have checked a couple of chiltons type books and can find no reference to the switch.

This can be found on ds and ps side. On the side of the dashboard just outside the bottom left corner of the removable fuse panel there is suppose to be a black switch which is depressed when the door is closed. I naturally broke this while I was working on the door panel. On the passenger side I can see this switch is thin and about 1.75 inches long.
While I noticed this before I dismissed it because I've alwas seen the switch at the frame area of the door.
Thanks
