Hi, my s-10 door was banged up and I found a new one to replace it with. Is this a difficult thing for a novice to do? do I need special tools?
Thanks,
Kim

Kim:
The worst part of the work is the weight of the door. Either have a helper hold it for you or set something up to hold it in place. As far as the removal, there are two door pins, one at the top and one at the bottom. Using a hammar, tap the old pins out one at a time. When you do this, the door will come detached from the vehicle. I recommend replacing the old pins with new ones. They are cheap and most parts stores carry them.

If you run into trouble, Kim, let me know and I'll walk you through it. If possible, take a picture of what you are having trouble with and upload it for me to see.

Take care, and I wish you a good 2010.
