Hello, I'm Danny.

You can reset the check engine light by disconnecting a battery cable. Here is the problem however. If you just want to do this to turn off the check engine light without fixing the fault the check engine light will come back on after 20-25 miles of driving the vehicle if a fault is still present. Here is a tutorial showing how to test fault codes with a check engine light illuminated:

After performing this scan then get back to us with any code information and we can then help properly diagnose any issues you are having with your vehicle to keep the check engine light off. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
