I am have a problem with the transmission fluid in my truck. It's disappearing and do not know where. There are no leak spots on the ground. When it goes low it will not shift into higher gear. Please help.

If there is no external leak, check the cooling system. If it has oil in it, you have a trans cooler that is leaking. It should be noticeable if it has run low enough to cause shifting concerns. Another possibility, if it is four wheel drive, pull the transfer case fill plug with the vehicle on level ground. If it pours out the fill plug, it is overfull, and transmission fluid is passing the input shaft seal in the transfer case.

It will require removal of the transfer case, and replacement of the front seal. The minimum parts needed will be a transfer case input shaft seal, adapter gasket, and fluid for the transfer case.
