Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

When I try to put my Chevy s10 into 4x4 the engine starts to sput and sputter, and does not move and tries to stall. I'm not sure what might be the problem, and after it does that if I happen to shut the truck off, it does not want to start again. I turn the key and the engine turns over but no spark. I have replaced the plugs, wire, and the coil and the starter. It runs fine for a while but it then starts acting up again. Have any idea what the problem might be? Thanks

Ok first you need to check all the vacuum lines that run the 4x4 system. Under the battery tray there is an actuator that is vacuum controled check it first and go from there. Let me know what you find.

I will check that, However I won't be able to tell you right away if it worked because I can't get the truck started.

Ok I need to know if it has spark or not. So pull a spark plug wire and put a screw driver in it and rest it near the valve cover and see if there spark when you crank it over if there is then we need to know what the fuel pressure is. Get back to me and we will go from there.
