1996 Chevy S-10 Engine Size unknown Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My brothers' truck stopped getting fuel and died. It has had a history of sputtering when turning left on a low tank. This time it just stopped pushing fuel. I told him to start easy and cheap and get a relay since he can't afford a shop.
He put the relay in (one of 3 identical relays) and it starts but won't stay running when driving. Any thoughts?

Install the old relay and check for fuel pressure. Also check for voltage at the fuel pump. If no voltage, install the new relay you purchased and see if there is voltage. Sounds more like a fuel pump
