I recentley changed my oil on my chevy s-10. After doing that a few days later the oil pressure gage started to drop especially when it was idoling. I have plenty of oil in the truck, but have always had a small leak. I had the engine replaced about 3 or 4 years ago with a rebuilt engine. I have placed 70,000 miles on that engine. Is it time for a new engine or is it the oil pump.

Could be the oil pressure switch giving you the curveball-check the oil pressure with mechanical gauge-to confirm it-Do you have engine knocking noises if not give it a shot. I recommend an engine flush to clear up all that nasty stuffs in the crankcase
