1998 Chevy S-10 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

This question is for my dad. He owns a 1998 Chevy s-10. It has high mileage, and recently the Oil Pressure Gauge has been acting up. When started the Gauge essentially pegs out, going to 80 and just hanging there even when the engine is shut off. We are trying to find what this cause would be. Faulty Pressure switch or defunct Gauge?

Hello -

Based off what you have said, I would replace the fuel pump oil pressure gauge sensor. I will attach the check if you would like but you will need a variable ohm tester that can adjust from 0 to 88 ohms.

It is item 3 on the pic
