When I press the clutch in there is no resistance, I can tap it and it hits the floor. The clutch doesn't do anything. I have one person telling me it is the clutch and another person is telling me it is the hydraulic slave, what do you think it is?

Check the master cylinder and see if there is any fluid in the system. If you dont, fill it up and pump the pedal and see where it is coming from. Sounds like you have a leak in the hydraulic system of the clutch.

If I do have a leak is there a way to fix it well without replacing the entire thing?

If I remember right, the master cylinder come with the line that goes to the trans. Its all one piece. If it is the slave cylinder, you will have to remove the trans.
