is there a crank shaft and a cam shaft and if so where are they located

Hi there,

The crank shaft and cam shaft are internal components of the engine, the crank shaft converts rotary motion to reciprocating motion so the pistons can go up and down, the cam shaft is driven by the crank shaft via a chain and operates the valves in the cylinder head, check this link for more general information.
