1993 Chevy S-10 hesitation

When I crank my truck up it will lope at idle, then the engine will rev up and will not idle down. When I am driving down the road it will surge when it is cold, after it warms up, it will almost completely go away. Sometimes if the engine is under a strain it will pop through the exhaust one time and the take off.

You have a restriction, in either the air intake or exhaust, possibly the catalytic convertor, try cleaning the throttle body and throttle plate, check the idle air control valve, also the egr could be a possibility, check these items and let me know what happens, also is there a check engine light on?
