1992 Chevy S-10 Oil pressure

I have the 4.3 liter Z code engine. On cold starts, the oil pressure display runs up close to the max; after warnmed up it drops nearly to zero at idle.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

I would first have the oil pressure tested cold with a master gauge, allow to warm up and check hot idle pressure, this will give you a true indication as to the oil pressure, this may just be a faulty gauge problem, do the test to make sure oil pressure is ok.
