I have a 1999 chevrolet suburban 126,920 miles on the way home it quite shifting the transmission seems to be stuck in only first or second at the same time the speedometer quit can this be electrical and what should I check?
When the unit is locked in one gear, low or contaminated gear oil could cause the problem.
(thanks for answering my first question and been corporative : ) )
Oil leaks at the speedometer drive can be caused by loose bolts or bad O-ring, and oil on the speed sensor wiring could cause it malfunction.
SHIfT LINKAGE PROBLEMS, BOTH INTERNAL AND INTERNAL WILL ALSO CAUSE A TRANSMISSION TO LOCK IN A GEAR
STUCK INTERLOCK OR DETENT PINS OR BALLS WILL ALSO PREVENT THE DESENGEMENT OF A GEAR
