I have a 99 chevy Z71 5.7

there is a coolent leak that can not be found anywhere. The truck is running great no over heating or anything temp is great. It is running from some where and it is leaking down right under the front drive saft. I put water in the reserve about once a month I don't have a clue what it could be. Plus it doesn't leak alot all the time. What could it be?

Check the rear freeze plugs to see if you might have a leak in that area

You may be able to trace the leak easier if you add some dye to the coolant. It is available at part stores.

I have a 99 Tahoe, my father and a friend all have had Chevy Trucks that did the same thing. It is your Intake Gasket. I have replaced mine twice and it was leaking just like yours and I could not find leak anywhere. My mechanic found it and it was leaking down the back of the engine. Try that. Hope it works for you.

Thanks for your post. This is a great learning forum for me, and this isn't something I've run into yet, but I am sure to :D

With some luck it will be mgovreau s silver bullet!
