2000 Other Chevrolet Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

We have a 2000 Georgetown Motorhome with a workhorse chassis. We have has this happen 3 times. While we are driving vehicle. It will just cut out and we lose power steering and braking. We have replaced the fuel filter twice and gas cap also. It is still doing this. After stopping for a minute. Vehicle will restart and we can continue to drive with full power and then eventually it will cut out again. Our mechanic checked the fuel line pressure etc. And found nothing wrong. As I said we replaced the fuel filter twice and it continues to do this. Any ideas?

That my friend is a large vehicle, I would remove the fuelpump and check the pickup filter, I have had the sock collapse and cut off the fuel. Another way to check this is put a fuel pressure gage on the vehicle and drive it till it dies, when it dies you'll be able to see if it's the pump or something else, you may also have a bad cat convertor. Good luck, Lou

I just thought of something, When it cuts out, will it start right back up, or after a few minutes, it'll start back up, will it cut out when slowing down?Maybe it'll buck then shut off, or just buck without shutting off, Replace the ignition module or if distributor is OEM replace the whole distributor. Thats what it sounds like to me, the module in the dist is overheating and shutting down, pretty soon it'll shut off and not restart. Good Luck, Lou
