I have a 1967 chevelle and when the headlights are swithed on the brake lights do not work. The turn signals do not work either when the headlights are on.

It sounds like the wires are connected wrong, It takes an 1157 dual element bulb. If the wires are backwards the brighter element will come on with the headlights and you wont be able to see the other element light up when the brake is applied. If the tail lights are briter than the brake light then thats the prob.

I agree with Bowtie Baby, but I would pull out all the bulbs, front and rear, and make sure the bulbs are the correct ones.
