1976 Chevy Nova Gear selector

My car was towed on the back of a truck back to my house. Now it won't go into gear.

Make sure that the key is turned on and brake pedal deressed. Then have a helper check to see if the shift release rod at bottom of steering column ismoving. It may have broken a cotter key and linkage fell out. If not this then you canalways get a professional opinion and talk to the tow truck company about damage.
