I broke the side passenger mirror by not paying attention while I was backing out of my garage. The mirror was knocked off but not completely broken off of the car. I was still able to drive it but when I turned the car off it would not start back up. I did not hit anything else, and it seemed as if only the mirror was affected, but that does not seem to be the case as the car is acting as though it has a short. It will not attempt to start but after several seconds there is a clicking sound. We suspect a short but that is the extent to my knowledge when it comes to automobiles. What can you tell me?

This could be a coincidental problem. Unless the mirror is electric and it is switched of there should be no power problem. But it could have shorted out. If you follow I t down there may be a plug if you disconnect it it should stop drawing power. But charge your battery and have it checked as it may have gone bad as well. If you tore the morrior off you might be able to see any elecrical wires torn off if you look in the door. There should be only maybe three screws that hold it on and they are from the inside going to the mirror.
