2001 Chevy Monte Carlo Transmissions problem

We have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with a 4 speed automatic. Sometimes it shifts fine and other times it slips. Could this be a computer problem.

Could be a problem with shifting solenoids or it could be just the throttle position and vehicle speed sensor acting up and the computer is not receiving their input signals to represent the throttle and governor pressures in order to command the transmission to shift properly.
